I was amazed when I learned that UAA was the first university to order fairly large quantity of Spikies.In recent years, the Anchorage area has been experiencing what we euphemistically all "Zamboni Winters." Instead of heavy snow cover, we've been having epeated thawing and freezing temperatures which lead to thick coats f very smooth ice on all the walking and driving surfaces outside. Needless to say, these conditions have been the cause of numerous debilitating nd expensive injuries to our employees.At first, we outfitted our grounds workers and police officers with eavy-duty strap-on cleats. While these units worked well for the grounds orkers who spent most of their workdays outdoors, they became very nconvenient for workers who had to drive vehicles as the units had o be taken on and off repeated throughout the day. Because of the inconvenience, many workers stopped using the heavy-duty units.To address the inconvenience factor, we began equipping some of our mployees with Spikies and they loved them! They were able to wear them hile driving vehicles and walking on carpeted surfaces within our buildings. This was especially true for our police officers who, often times, do ot have sufficient time to strap on the heavy-duty varieties before hasing after the bad guys.After trying Spikies for one winter and experiencing such a high degree f employee acceptance, we decided to provide all our employees with ree Spikies this winter. If we prevent just one major accident by outfitting ll our employees with Spikies, the free Spikies program will have easily aid for itself.Thank you for providing such an excellent product. Spikies will prevent any serious injuries this winter and save UAA many dollars in our workers ompensation and health benefits pool. I highly endorse your product.

Dear Mr. Russell,

I am writing in regards to your product “Spiky-Plus” footwear slip protection. This is a well made product that actually stays in place on my shoes when I walk, twist or turn. The spikes are well bonded to the rubber. I have tried similar products that didn’t last one day with more than one spike remaining. The “Yak Trax” coiled spring variety are a total waste of money and flip off my shoes within an hour, not to mention snagging into carpet when trying to leave my home to go to work.

I called information to get your company phone number and spoke with Virginia Collins about ordering additional pairs for my self and family. I was given one pair at my place of employment and took the address information off the package. I live in the upper part of Michigan and winters are harsh with very slippery conditions. I’ll pass on your phone number and product name to my fellow “Michiganders.”
